North of neukölln (were are the bars and stuff are) is clearly gentrified and this is probably because it is close to kreuzberg. I live in the center of the district and litterally hear gun shots every three day and my bike have been stolen 2 weeks after I arrived dispite the security on it

I'm from India and I still don't like Neukölln very much. One of the very few places in Berlin where I felt unsafe on many occasions. With sleezy, gawking men here and there. It's like walking through flashbacks of my small town in india. No thanks.

Many of them are like that, but all of these stuff "required" by Berlin citizens make sense... eg: Bike lanes are for bikes, not for pedestrians. Holocaust memorial is not to meant to be disrespected to jump on it. Put your phone away, you don't need Wifi at a bar. Give your tip in hand to the person who gave you a nice service... they will give a thank you in your face, not your table. The train is not free... they trust on you and weather might change :) :)
